Most Teachers Fix Your Sound. I Build Your Performance

1
The Problem — A beautiful voice is only half the job. Musical theatre demands that you tell a story, connect to lyric, shape a phrase with purpose, and make every moment feel genuinely alive — all while hitting the notes, staying in rhythm, and making it look effortless.
2
The Blind Spot — Most technical voice training treats singing and acting as separate disciplines. They’re not. I’ve spent my career — as a writer, a Music Director, and a coach — understanding exactly how they work together. My lessons reflect that.
3
My Approach — I describe myself as the auto mechanic of the voice: I can hear with unusual precision what needs to shift for better resonance, vibrato, placement, and freedom — and I can apply that diagnosis directly to real material, not abstract exercises.
Vocal Technique
Pitch, breath coordination, resonance, vibrato, tone, placement, and range — addressed at the source, not the symptom. Most students leave the very first session with changes they can already hear and feel.
Rapid Diagnosis
I can quickly identify the technical adjustment that will make the biggest difference for your voice — often within minutes, not months.
Real Material Application
No endless abstract warm-ups. Every technical concept gets applied directly to the songs, auditions, and performances that matter to your goals.
Acting Through Song
Every lyric has a specific intention. We make it yours — connecting objective, emotional stakes, and physical behavior so your songs stop feeling generalized and start genuinely landing.
Acting that supports the voice
Acting choices that fight the voice are extremely common. I help you find the ones that strengthen it — where intention, lyric specificity, and physical life all work together.
A writer’s ear for story
With a Berklee Masters in Musical Theatre Writing and several original musicals, I understand how the music itself supports emotion, structure, and dramatic impact.

No. Coaching works for complete beginners through working professionals — sessions are tailored to your current level and goals.
Both formats use the same approach and get the same results. In-person works well if you’re local to Long Beach; online works well for flexibility or if you’re outside the area. See the format pages above for details on each.
Most students see the fastest, most compounding progress with weekly sessions (the monthly package). Single sessions work well for a specific goal, like an upcoming audition or performance review.
Students range from young performers just starting out to college-bound auditioners to working adult professionals. Lessons are always tailored to the individual.
The 30-minute assessment is a real conversation about your goals and current challenges — not a lesson. It’s how we figure out together which coaching option is the right fit before you commit to anything.
Start with the free assessment — we’ll talk through your goals, schedule, and location, and I’ll point you to the right format directly.
